Giraffe walk at Arusha National Park
Arusha National Park packs three landscapes into one compact reserve: the Ngurdoto Crater's forest bowl, the alkaline Momella Lakes, and the slopes of Mount Meru itself. Giraffes, buffalo, warthogs and colobus monkeys are often seen, and flamingos visit the lakes in season.
It is one of the few Tanzanian parks where ranger-led walking safaris and canoeing are offered — being on foot beneath giraffes changes the scale of everything.
