Arusha National Park: walk, drive and canoe in one day
Twenty minutes from town, a compact park stretches from the Ngurdoto Crater's forest bowl to the Momella Lakes under Mount Meru. Giraffe, buffalo and colobus monkeys are often spotted, flamingos visit the lakes in season — and this is one of the few parks offering ranger-led walks and canoeing.
Walking beneath giraffes before lunch and returning to town in time for dinner is Arusha's signature day.
