About Samburu National Reserve

Samburu National Reserve, in northern Kenya, is a distinctive safari destination famed for its arid landscapes, rugged terrain and wildlife rarely seen elsewhere in the country. The reserve is home to the 'Samburu Special Five': Grevy's zebra, the reticulated giraffe, the Somali ostrich, the Beisa oryx and the gerenuk. Elephants are plentiful and are often observed bathing in the Ewaso Nyiro River, the reserve's lifeline. Predators such as lions, leopards and cheetahs also roam freely, making Samburu an outstanding spot for wildlife viewing. Visitors can also discover the rich culture of the Samburu people, who coexist closely with the natural environment.
