About Samburu National Reserve

Samburu National Reserve, in northern Kenya, offers a unique safari experience with arid landscapes, rugged terrain and wildlife seldom seen elsewhere in the country. The reserve is famous for the 'Samburu Special Five': Grevy's zebra, the reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx and gerenuk. Elephants are common and are frequently observed bathing in the Ewaso Nyiro River, the reserve's lifeline. Predators such as lions, leopards and cheetahs roam freely, making it an excellent destination for wildlife safaris. Visitors can also enjoy the rich culture of the Samburu people, who live in harmony with nature.
