About Samburu National Reserve

Samburu National Reserve, located in northern Kenya, is a unique safari destination noted for its arid landscapes, rugged terrain and wildlife not commonly found elsewhere in the country. The reserve hosts the 'Samburu Special Five': Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx and gerenuk. Elephants are abundant, often seen bathing in the Ewaso Nyiro River, which serves as the reserve's lifeline. Predators such as lions, leopards and cheetahs roam freely here, making it an excellent wildlife-viewing location. Visitors can experience the rich culture of the Samburu people, who live in close harmony with nature.
