About Amboseli National Park

Amboseli National Park, often called 'The Land of Giants', is renowned for its spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak, and its large herds of free-roaming elephants. Located in southern Kenya, near the Tanzanian border, the park covers over 390 square kilometres of diverse ecosystems, including open plains, acacia woodlands, swamps and the dry bed of Lake Amboseli. The park sustains a wide range of wildlife—lions, cheetahs, zebras, giraffes—and more than 400 bird species. Amboseli offers outstanding photographic opportunities, with elephants silhouetted against the snow-capped peaks of Kilimanjaro. Visitors can also visit Maasai villages and learn about their rich culture and sustainable coexistence with wildlife.
