About Amboseli National Park

Amboseli National Park, often called 'The Land of Giants', is renowned for its spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak, and its large herds of free-roaming elephants. Situated in southern Kenya near the border with Tanzania, the park covers over 390 square kilometres of diverse habitats, including open plains, acacia woodlands, swamps and the dry bed of Lake Amboseli. The park supports a wide variety of wildlife—lions, cheetahs, zebras, giraffes—and over 400 bird species. Amboseli offers exceptional opportunities for photographers, with elephants silhouetted against Kilimanjaro’s snow-capped peaks. Visitors can also explore Maasai villages and learn about their culture and sustainable coexistence with wildlife.
