Overview
The quickest way into Kenya's most storied wildlife arena: a scheduled dawn flight from Nairobi Wilson Airport takes you over the Great Rift Valley and onto a Maasai Mara airstrip in about 45–60 minutes — the five-hour road transfer each way becomes a short scenic hop. A safari 4x4 meets the aircraft and you have roughly seven hours inside the reserve: a long morning game drive when predators are at their most active, a picnic lunch in the bush, and an afternoon sweep of the plains back to the airstrip. Lion, elephant, giraffe, buffalo, cheetah and large herds of plains game are often seen, and between July and October the wildebeest migration is frequently present — though every sighting is wild and never guaranteed. The late-afternoon flight returns you to Wilson by early evening. Reserve entrance fees, return scheduled flights, airstrip game drives, picnic lunch and Nairobi hotel transfers are all included. Luggage on safari flights is limited to 15 kg per person in soft bags.
