By February the land has been drying for months and Kenya is at its most classically 'safari': golden grass, dust devils, acacias in silhouette and heat that builds to dramatic 33°C afternoons. Dry-season game viewing is all about concentration: as seasonal pools disappear, every animal that drinks must come to permanent water, and predators set ambushes accordingly.
