The first thing extra days buy is not more parks - it's more chances. Wildlife runs on probability: lions are commonly seen on any Mara visit, but a leopard, a hunt, a seasonal river crossing—those reward repeated dawns. One day gives you a single roll of the dice (and the Mara's density makes it a loaded one); three days gives you five or six rolls; five days gives you enough that luck matters far less.
The second thing days buy is settling in. Around the third morning, travellers stop hunting sightings and start watching behaviour—guides see it happen like clockwork. That's when a safari becomes the trip people describe for the rest of their lives, and it's the honest case for five days or more.
