Arusha National Park: walk, drive and canoe in one day
Twenty minutes from town, a compact park stretches from the Ngurdoto Crater's forest bowl to the Momella Lakes below Mount Meru. Giraffe, buffalo and colobus monkeys are often seen, flamingos visit the lakes in season — and it’s one of the few parks offering ranger-led walks and canoeing.
Being on foot beneath giraffes before lunch and back in town for dinner is Arusha's signature day.
