Arusha National Park: walk, drive and canoe in a day
Twenty minutes from town, a compact park runs from the Ngurdoto Crater's forest bowl to the Momella Lakes beneath Mount Meru. Giraffe, buffalo and colobus monkeys are frequently sighted, flamingos visit the lakes in season — and this is one of the few parks offering ranger-led walks and canoeing.
On foot beneath giraffes before lunch and back in town for dinner — that's Arusha's signature day.
