About Lake Nakuru National Park

Lake Nakuru National Park, set in Kenya’s Great Rift Valley, is a breathtaking sanctuary renowned for its spectacular birdlife and varied ecosystems. The park centres on Lake Nakuru, a shallow alkaline lake frequently dotted with pink flamingos, creating one of nature’s most striking spectacles. It supports more than 400 bird species, including pelicans, cormorants and African fish eagles. The park is also a vital refuge for endangered black and white rhinos, as well as Rothschild giraffes, lions, leopards and buffalo. Visitors can explore acacia woodlands, dramatic cliffs and scenic viewpoints like Baboon Cliff, which offer panoramic views of the lake and surrounding landscape.
