About Lake Nakuru National Park

Lake Nakuru National Park, located in Kenya’s Great Rift Valley, is a breathtaking sanctuary famed for its spectacular birdlife and diverse ecosystems. The park centres around Lake Nakuru, a shallow alkaline lake often peppered with pink flamingos, creating one of nature’s most mesmerising spectacles. It is home to more than 400 bird species, including pelicans, cormorants and African fish eagles. The park also provides a safe haven for endangered black and white rhinos, as well as Rothschild giraffes, lions, leopards and buffalo. Visitors can explore acacia woodlands, dramatic cliffs and picturesque viewpoints such as Baboon Cliff, offering panoramic views of the lake and surrounding landscapes.
