2.How our booking system works
Per Person, Per Day, Per Park
Kenya's protected areas run on daily conservation fees. National parks — Amboseli, Tsavo, Nakuru, Nairobi — are managed by the Kenya Wildlife Service under one gazetted tariff. The Masai Mara is different: it's a national reserve managed by Narok County with its own fee schedule, which is why Mara numbers move independently of KWS parks. Conservancies differ again — their per-night fees are bundled into your accommodation rate and flow to landowning families.
The practical consequence: a multi-park itinerary stacks different fee regimes, which is why two quotes for 'the same' seven days can differ by hundreds of dollars depending on how many 24-hour blocks each operator books. Always check whether fees are included — ours are.

Visitor fees fund conservation efforts
Ranger salaries and anti-poaching patrols. Road grading after every rainy season. Habitat management, water points, research programmes, and — critically — revenue sharing with the communities whose land borders the parks. Kenya's wildlife survives because it pays for itself; your daily fee is the mechanism. When the Mara raised peak-season fees, the stated goal was fewer vehicles at higher value — a direct response to the crowding travellers complain about.
