Africa's most photographed mountain backdrop, reached before breakfast: the scheduled morning flight from Nairobi Wilson Airport lands at the Amboseli airstrip in about 45 minutes, and on clear mornings Mount Kilimanjaro fills the cabin windows on approach. A 4x4 safari vehicle meets the aircraft for a full day in the park renowned for its free-ranging elephant families — often seen crossing the plains beneath the mountain, together with buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, hippo in the wetland springs and excellent birdlife; the mountain itself keeps its own schedule and is clearest at dawn. After a picnic lunch and an afternoon drive past Observation Hill, the return flight has you back at Wilson by late afternoon. Reserve fees, return scheduled flights, airstrip game drives, picnic lunch and Nairobi hotel transfers are included. This day safari operates on the high-season flight timetable (January–March, mid‑June to October and mid‑to‑late December), when the afternoon return service runs; on other dates same-day returns are not available on scheduled flights — please contact us about alternatives. Luggage on safari flights is limited to 15 kg per person in soft bags.
