About Lake Nakuru National Park, Kenya

Lake Nakuru National Park, set in Kenya’s Great Rift Valley, is a breathtaking sanctuary renowned for its spectacular birdlife and varied ecosystems. The park centres on Lake Nakuru, a shallow alkaline lake frequently dotted with pink flamingos, creating one of nature’s most mesmerising spectacles. It is home to over 400 bird species, including pelicans, cormorants and African fish eagles. The park also offers a refuge for endangered black and white rhinoceros, as well as Rothschild giraffes, lions, leopards and buffalo. Visitors can explore acacia woodlands, dramatic cliffs and scenic viewpoints such as Baboon Cliff, which provide panoramic views of the lake and surrounding landscape.
