About Lake Nakuru National Park, Kenya

Lake Nakuru National Park, in Kenya’s Great Rift Valley, is a stunning sanctuary celebrated for its spectacular birdlife and rich ecosystems. The park centres on Lake Nakuru, a shallow alkaline lake often scattered with pink flamingos, creating one of nature’s most striking spectacles. It hosts over 400 bird species, including pelicans, cormorants and African fish eagles. The park also provides a refuge for endangered black and white rhinos, as well as Rothschild giraffes, lions, leopards and buffalo. Visitors can explore acacia woodlands, dramatic cliffs and picturesque viewpoints such as Baboon Cliff, which offer sweeping views across the lake and surrounding terrain.
