Samburu National Reserve - Home of the Samburu Special Five

Samburu National Reserve, in northern Kenya, is a distinctive safari destination famed for its arid landscapes, rugged terrain and wildlife rarely seen elsewhere in the country. The reserve hosts the 'Samburu Special Five': Grevy's zebra, the reticulated giraffe, the Somali ostrich, the Beisa oryx and the gerenuk. Elephants are plentiful and are often observed bathing in the Ewaso Nyiro River, the reserve's lifeline. Predators such as lions, leopards and cheetahs also roam freely here, making it an outstanding safari destination.
