Samburu National Reserve - Home of the Samburu Special Five

Samburu National Reserve, situated in northern Kenya, is a unique game reserve famed for its arid landscapes, rugged terrain and wildlife not commonly found elsewhere in the country. The reserve is home to the 'Samburu Special Five': Grevy's zebra, the reticulated giraffe, the Somali ostrich, the Beisa oryx and the gerenuk. Elephants are abundant and are frequently seen bathing in the Ewaso Nyiro River, the lifeline of the reserve. Predators such as lions, leopards and cheetahs also roam here, making it an excellent location for safari experiences. Visitors can engage with the rich culture of the Samburu people, who live in harmony with nature in this region.
